Emergency power supply

Sound power management is hugely important to the availability of your IT infrastructure. After all, no power means no data. In percentage terms, loss of mains power is the second largest cause of downtime. Several solutions are available to prevent downtime caused by a power failure.

A standby generator can be installed to supply (generate) power when the utility supply fails, while UPS systems are used to bridge shorter interruptions. The UPS also delivers ‘clean’ power to the IT components in your server rooms. So-called Voltage & Frequency Independent (VFI) UPS systems generate a sine wave of their own that is independent of the incoming supply voltage, in both amplitude and frequency.
